Two computer science students from HTWG Konstanz won a travel grant to participate in the SECENTIS winter school. Sandra Ringmann (BIT) and Felix Schuckert (MSI) had applied to attend the winter school on „Security and Trust of Next Generation Enterprise Information Systems“ in Trento, Italy, in February. In her master’s thesis, Sandra Ringmann investigated how automation could be employed to improve security testing of web applications. Felix Schuckert’s thesis explored how training samples for software developers could be generated to aid secure software development. Both want to pursue a Ph.D. degree in the field of information security.
The programme of the winter school comprised security of web applications, static analysis, data protection and improvements of secure software development in the field. Spontaneous reaction upon return: „The winter school was really great.“
The stipend covered travel, accommodation, and registration fee. Congratulations!
